A Nordic approach to feeling better

I’m Jani, founder of Nordic Therapies. I work with people who carry a lot and still want their body to feel reliable, steady, and easy to live in. My work is rooted in Finnish therapeutic heritage and shaped by years of treating busy London lives. If you are dealing with recurring pain, stress overload, training wear-and-tear, or a body that just does not feel right anymore, the goal is simple. Practical, results-focused treatment that fits real schedules, delivered to your home.

Why I do this work

I have dealt with back pain from my teens and I have had regular treatments for most of my life. I have tried a huge range of therapists and styles over the years, and that experience shaped what I value. Not quick fixes. Not “just go harder”. I wanted treatment that made sense, treated the whole body, and actually changed the pattern.

Finnish bodywork has given me the biggest shift personally. That is why I started studying it. At first, it was selfish in the best way. I wanted tools I could trust when my own back, hands, or legs were acting up, without having to fly back to Finland to get the kind of help I could not find in London.

The Finnish modalities I brought to London

A core part of my work is bringing two specialist Finnish modalities to UK clients: Traditional Kalevala Mobilisation Therapy (TKMT) and Neural Pathway Massage (NPM). As far as I am aware, I am currently the only practitioner in the UK offering either one.

Finland has created a few genuinely distinctive therapies with strong heritage, and TKMT and NPM are two of the standouts. They are not trend techniques. They are practical systems that treat the body as connected, and they can be surprisingly effective when someone has been stuck for a long time.

Gentle, precise, and whole-body focused

A lot of people have tried approaches that feel harsh, forced, or overly mechanical. Some methods can give immediate relief, but they can also push the body beyond what it is ready for. My own preference, and the way I work, is different.

TKMT and NPM are designed to bring the body back towards balance without cracking, forcing, or chasing pain with pressure. TKMT focuses on posture, balance, soft tissues, and the way strain travels through the body over time. NPM works through the nervous system with precise, targeted input and can be especially helpful when the body feels overloaded or stuck.

Alongside TKMT and NPM, I offer Signature Massage, Hybrid Massage, Raynor Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Lomilomi, and Nordic Head and Face Massage. In real terms, that means your session can be properly matched to what you need, rather than squeezed into a single routine.

One practice, many tools, tailored to you

I work with people from a wide mix of backgrounds, from business owners and office-based professionals to clinicians, creatives, and active clients. Many of my regulars are golfers and runners who want to stay mobile, recover well, and perform consistently without the usual build-up of tightness.

Some clients come for mobility and recurring strain. Some want recovery and performance support. Some need nervous system downshift, better sleep, or a full-body reset after demanding months. If you have tried everything and still keep ending up in the same loop, Finnish bodywork is worth experiencing. Many London clients, including long-term deep tissue regulars, are surprised by how much can change when the whole body is treated as one system.
